The workings of our blended family

If you were to analyze my blog, you would soon find yourself puzzled with how many of our children do not look alike. When we go out all together we get the occasional questions such as "wow! you two have a lot of children! How old are they?" we explain we have one 9 year old, one 10 year old, two 11 year olds, 13 and 14.. of course then they assume we have a set of twins that look absolutely nothing like each other haha. So here is our short story.

We are a happily blended family, Mike having three and myself having three. Combined we are almost the Brady Bunch!

Technically we only have six children all at once, twice a month. This is always a complicated thing to explain to people but for us it is what it is and it works for us. We are all very close and we do pretty much everything together as a family.

Being a blended family can be tricky at times but to me I think the key is to be objectionable and not to take sides when the children fight. Mike and I are always cautious using the term YOUR children" because in the beginning this made for some ill feelings all around.

So there is our story in short :)
